The Level 5 Major Award allows students to acquire a broad range of I.T. skills and the opportunity to practice these skills in the workplace. Modules to be completed include Web Authoring (5N1910), where students will be required to design, create, upload and maintain a fully responsive web site that is equally functional on a desktop PC, tablet or smartphone. Other modules include Spreadsheet Methods where students will develop a fully automated invoicing system ideal for use in a business setting and building a bespoke relational database to meet a specific business need.
The Manual and Computerised Book Keeping module will allow students to acquire the skills to create accurate bookkeeping records. Work Experience is a key component of the course, where students will be required to find and complete a two week placement.
Students will also be able to complete the full ECDL and Advanced ECDL awards. Online practice and certified exams means this course can be completed to the student's own timetable.
